Workshops on Citizens Redistricting Committee
The deadline to apply to the State’s new Citizens Redistricting Commission
expires on Friday, Feb. 12th.
SCAPAL will be holding workshops on THURS., FEB. 4th, and TUES., FEB. 9th,
starting at 6 pm at 3675 Ruffin Rd., Suite 115, San Diego to answer
questions about the Commission and the application and selection process.
San Diego County APIAs represent less than 1% of the applicant pool, even
though APIAs represent 15% of the City of San Diego and 19% of the City of
National City. We must have more APIA applicants if we stand a chance of
having representation on the Commission.

SCAPAL encourages you to complete the Initial Application form.
Send our email and our flyer to other APIA colleagues and community
activists, law students, law clerks, members of Boards of Directors,
organizations, and churches/temples you are involved with.
The Commission is a paid position. The basic qualifications are an
applicant must be a registered voter in California for at least the last
five years with the same party (or decline-to-state) affiliation; must
have voted in at least two of the last three statewide general elections;
must have relevant analytical skills, be impartial, and appreciate
California’s diversity.
